As Tax Accountant, you will report directly to the Head of Tax and will have responsibility for the preparation of the annual tax computations of the LLP and related UK entities, and will appraise the Firm of the consequences of changes in taxation legislation for the firm’s taxation strategy. Within this role, you will need to maintain a productive relationship with external tax advisors, HMRC and other relevant authorities. You will also have responsibility for the preparation of quarterly VAT returns.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and developing working knowledge of all main taxes including Income tax, employment taxes, CGT, NIC, VAT;
- Preparation of the annual tax computations for the LLP and related UK entities, and deal with all subsequent HMRC queries to conclusion;
- Be the point of contact for HR colleagues to advise on tax efficient staff benefits eg childcare vouchers, computers for home etc;
- Manage the PAYE Settlement processes and maintain the current dispensation agreement with HMRC;
- Provide information for the production of partners personal tax returns and respond to queries from external advisors;
- Liaise with the operations and financial control teams on VAT issues and develop understanding to act as first point of call for VAT compliance queries.
- Manage ad hoc projects and ensure appropriate liaison with Internal Audit/external tax advisors.
Skills and experience:
The ideal candidate will be a qualified or part qualified CTA with demonstrable mixed tax experience, including partnerships, is desirable although not essential;
- Capable of delivering outstanding quality of service to senior internal and external customers.
- Excellent technical skills in the production of tax returns and computations.
