With the economy still in such great fluctuation going into 2012, Blusource are delighted to invite you, on behalf of Birmingham Forward to have lunch with David Bailey, acclaimed economist, who will discuss the implications of the current economy throughout the West Midlands and how manufacturing has greatly changed the economic landscape.
With a superb 2-course lunch also available, join David and Birmingham Forward on Tuesday 31 January 2012 in what promises to be a highly engaging and insightful discussion into the recent economical struggles we have faced both regionally and nationally and how best to overcome these issues going forward.
It is no secret that David is highly active through his academic work, blogs and extensive media work in keeping the plight of ex-MG Rover workers in the public eye, in pushing the case for support for the auto industry (earning him the nickname ‘Professor Scrappage’), in the campaign to defend Cadbury’s independence, and to push for greater protection for UK firms from takeover.
David’s high media profile and numerous roles have led to him being ranked in several listings of the most influential people in the region, including those in Business Insider magazine and the Birmingham Post 'Power 50'; in the latter he was ranked at No. 8 in 2009.
This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with a leading economist that really has his finger on the pulse of the West Midlands economic and industrial region and the forthcoming prospects of both.
