Knockout Networking!

On the morning of Friday 13th team members from professional service firms all over the East Midlands have been nursing their sore bruises and reminiscing over the photos of what was a very different, ice- breaking and truly enjoyable networking event.

On Thursday 12th May, the Friday 13th Networking club (missed a trick there - we know!) hosted their biggest event of 2011 so far: It's a Knockout - Corporate tournament.

16 teams from professional service firms all over the East Midlands flocked up at 5pm to The Bay training grounds in Nottingham all kitted up in bright corporate t-shirts and even fancy dress, ready to compete against one another in an array of huge inflatable, foam, water and sumo suit games. The best dressed firms have to have been Freeth Cartwright who all came as sailors under the team name "HMS Freeth Cartwright" and the PKF team many of whom were dressed trans-genderly in ridiculous wigs and who all, (according to their pink sashes) were on a "Girls night out".

Despite periods of looming rain clouds the atmosphere was amazing and everyone brought out their inner competitive streak launching themselves over 30ft inflatable towers into a soaking wet and foamy landing pits just to beat the other bank/accountancy firm/law firm. The highlight of the evening is very debatable and there are so many contending points, one of which may have been the rogue streaker who made a quick dive up the inflatable tower and down front first before striding off. You may be pleased/ disappointed to hear this was not one of our professional service co-workers!

A big congratulations to the Winners - Network NG/ LE, or as they were dubbed on the night Network Nigel!

Also well done to the 2nd place team- Berryman whom were only 2 points below the winner. And another well done to the IoD Young Directors' Forum who came 3rd place.
